Central City Health is proud to introduce our Internship/Externship Program, an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience while supporting our mission to provide whole-person, community-based care in Detroit and Wayne County.
Each semester, we welcome a new group of students to precept under a range of disciplines that reflect the diversity of services we offer. Our program is designed to help prepare the next generation of professionals with real-world experience in a supportive, collaborative environment.
If your academic program requires clinical hours or field work, this is a great opportunity to fulfill those requirements while contributing to meaningful work that impacts the health and well-being of our community.
We’re currently accepting applications for the Fall 2025 semester in the following areas:
· Primary Care
· Dental Care
· Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
· Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
· Finance
“At Central City Health, we believe in growing talent from the ground up,” said Y’vonne McGhee, Director of Human Resources. “Our internship program is not only an investment in future health care and administrative leaders, but it's also a reflection of our commitment to education, mentorship, and community impact. We look forward to welcoming new students who are passionate about making a difference.”
Whether you’re pursuing a career in health care or administration, this is a great opportunity to apply your classroom learning, work alongside experienced professionals, and make a real impact in the community.
