“CCH DENTAL DAYS,” AUG. 2, 23 AND 30
Central City Health initiative provides essential dental care to Detroit and Wayne County residents, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay
DETROIT — Central City Health (CCH) will host "CCH Dental Days" in August, offering free dental exams and x-rays to the community. The events will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays, August 2, 23, and 30, located at 10 Peterboro St. in Midtown Detroit. This health and wellness initiative is designed to enhance oral health in the community by providing comprehensive dental care to those in need. CCH Dental Days is available to Detroit and Wayne County residents regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
"Good oral health is essential for a healthy life, and our objective is to offer comprehensive dental care and education to as many people as possible," said Dr. Olivia Croom, dental director at Central City Health. "By providing free exams and x-rays, we hope to catch dental issues early and assist patients in sustaining optimal oral health. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this meaningful opportunity and join us for CCH Dental Days."
During CCH Dental Days, patients will receive comprehensive oral examinations and partial x-rays, focusing on the sides of their teeth. These services are designed to help detect dental issues early and guide patients towards maintaining better oral health. The oral examination includes a thorough check of the teeth, gums, and mouth to identify any signs of cavities, oral cancer, or other health issues. Additionally, a gum health assessment will be performed to ensure early detection of gum disease. Dentists also will evaluate existing dental work, such as fillings and crowns, to confirm they are in good condition.
Each patient will receive a "report card" outlining the next steps for maintaining oral health, including scheduling their next appointment, based on the findings of their exam. Exams will be conducted every 15 minutes throughout the event, with 50 available appointments each day. Both adults and children are welcome. To make an appointment, please call (313) 309-3091.
